Press

Where in the World is Papageno is a live world map of every upcoming performance of Mozart's Magic Flute we can verify: 472 performances at 121 venues in 24 countries right now, with casts, dates and tickets, in 12 languages. Free, no ads, no cookies. A one-person project from Sierre, Switzerland.

The numbers

472 upcoming performances · 24 countries · 121 venues · 12 languages · data as of 2026-07-18. Every date is checked against the presenter's own website or box office before it lands on the map, and refreshed nightly.

Why it exists

There is no public worldwide feed of opera performances. The site merges more than twenty sources, from opera house APIs to ticket platforms to hand-verified festival pages, into one open map that answers a single question: where can I see this opera, soon, near me?

Story angles

The whole world sings one opera: on most evenings the Magic Flute is on stage somewhere on earth. · The complete 1937-38 HMV recording under Sir Thomas Beecham streams free on the site, side by side with scans of the original shellac labels. · Legends of the role, from Emanuel Schikaneder, the first Papageno of 1791, to the Queen of the Night aria travelling aboard Voyager 1 past the edge of the solar system.
