Three Boys

treble voices

The Three Boys are the opera's gentle guides, floating in to show Tamino and Papageno the way. Mozart gives them music of unearthly calm, often sung by trebles from an opera house or cathedral children's choir. Their scene talking Pamina out of her despair is one of the most touching in the score.
